WAITING FOR A BETTER COUNTRY

Faith And Endurance To Reach God's Country

Our Brother Glenn is running some errands, thus we are pleased to share again a message with you which was prayerfully prepared by our Brother Patrice from the beautiful Country of France. Let us learn from the Lord through his message this week.

“If they had been thinking about the country they had left, they could have gone back. But they were waiting for a better country—a heavenly country. So God is not ashamed to be called their God, because he has prepared a city for them“ (Hebrew 11:15 NIV).

-Just before I begin read Hebrew 11:11-39 and then read this article as follow, below I have put in red some very significant words from the Lord in our walk with Him.

The Title concerns our Heavenly home, as we read the chapters we have a clue of how our Father in Heaven wants us to live. We definitely know that the flesh cannot be overcome as an ordinary man, but we need Faith or an extraordinary faith to do might works.Without the Help of the Holy Ghost we could never see Heaven, because it is God’s goodness that works within us, for each one of us.

It is absolutely important that we base our christian life on Faith like all our Fathers in the faith as Paul described it in Hebrew Chapters 11 and 12, they were a great example to us, and triumphed in Faith and were helped to overcome their situations-
Everyone of us are going through something and everyone of us should keep our focus on the Light of Christ and Heaven.Paul mentioned it many times , “set your eyes on things above not on the earth” (Colossians 3:2 NIV).

Strengthening Our Relationship With The Lord

So definitely all we need to develop is a relationship with our God like Elijah Elisha Moses David and even more like our Lord Jesus Christ imitating them in faith and actions-

Our relationship can be so strong and yet sometimes so weak because of our failures our shorts coming and sin.

Until the day we shall depart from earth, we will need to continue to fight the good fight, as Jesus said.

The good fight is our own flesh and for that we need to pass some time in the word and eat the word (speaking it and memorising it) digesting it (understand it )and practicing it in love toward others.

There no greater than love, and love overcome people who are nagging others or put their fingers at others finding their fault and using their faults to destroy them.

The practical Christian life is very important it will help us to overcome also our limitations or sins, looking after someone make us to sacrifice our own selfish ways and develop spiritual virtues and overcoming.

What are the great things or pleasures to find the problem in others ’ life ? while us are so miserable sometimes , this is called a lack of understanding and misjudgment-

Rather I would prefer imitating God than human beings, because our God is full of compassion, mercy, and great Love-

Why then wouldn’t we want to be the same..the reason is that us people need to grow, and should become like our Lord Jesus Christ or God Himself, we will then never be limited and find ourselves full of love and strengthen by Him towards other.

The Holy Spirit is the One who help us, He encourages us to pray for our enemies, to love them, He also show us things to come and reminds all that Jesus has said concerning him.

What a wonderful Lord we serve, let’s believe for deliverance in our daily lives with perseverance to receive breakthroughs as we are willing to follow him whatever situation we find ourselves in-

This earth is only a motion, we are here today but tomorrow? we don’t know.

So let us live for the day enjoying every moment that God gives us and taking advantage to thank him and be part of the reaching out toward people so they may have the opportunity to receive salvation for their souls and a Heavenly Home waiting for them as they decide to put all their effort and Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ-

Never look back and keep focus on things above, Paul said in his letter,  In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood (Hebrew 12:4)

Think how our Hight Priest Jesus is faithful and here asking us to persevere in Holiness thou it is not an easy task.
Be strong and very courageous have a personal intimacy with Jesus and be truthful to him-

Edifying Scriptural References

Hebrew 11:1

11:1 Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it. 2 Faith is the reason we remember great people who lived in the past.

Hebrew 12:1-6

God Is like a Father

You are struggling against sin, but your struggles have not yet caused you to be killed. You have forgotten the encouraging words that call you his children:

“My child, don’t think the Lord’s discipline is worth nothing,

and don’t stop trying when he corrects you.

The Lord disciplines those he loves,

and he punishes everyone he accepts as his child.”
Proverbs 3:11–12

Be Careful How You Live

.. But you have come to Mount Zion,
to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands of angels gathered together with joy.

You have come to the meeting of God’s firstborn
children whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all people, and to the spirits of good people who have been made perfect.  You have come to Jesus, the One who brought the new agreement from God to his people, and you have come to the sprinkled blood[e] that has a better message than the blood of Abel. So be careful and do not refuse to listen when God speaks. Others refused to listen to him when he warned them on earth, and they did not escape. So it will be worse for us if we refuse to listen to God who warns us from heaven.  When he spoke before, his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once again I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” The words “once again” clearly show us that everything that was made—things that can be shaken—will be destroyed. Only the things that cannot be shaken will remain.
So let us be thankful, because we have a kingdom that cannot be shaken. We should worship God in a way that pleases him with respect and fear,  because our God is like a fire that burns things up.

Do you fear God? If so, make your commitment today to Christ the Lord. Do you want to give your works an eternal meaning? To begin a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, please repent and start by praying this Prayer of Sincere Repentance. Conviction Of The Holy Spirit Opens Our Spiritual Eyes

Back to our message, it can be said that each one of us had a past life involving some poor decisions that we had taken before we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour. As we know, no one is born saved, if we were there would be no need for grace. Therefore, the work of the Holy Spirit directly points us to the grace of our Heavenly Father (Zechariah 4:6). What I mean is this, grace manifest through the Holy Spirit who convicts us of sin (John 16:8) which in turn leads us towards a Saviour to obtain salvation (2 Corinthians 7:10).

Without boring you with my testimony which I repeatedly shared in this space. Anyway, before I initially committed my life to Christ back in 1990, I had no regard for Church, but I knew if I needed to know more about the Lord that is the place I would have to go. However, like I shared elsewhere, my life with the Lord began when I started reading the bible for myself, which led me to the conviction of my sins and faith in the Lord. During my worldly ways, I sought the company of my friends to engage in our usual habits of drinking, partying and engaging in various sins, but after all my activities are done, I would often ask myself, ‘how long will I continue like this, and where will all this end?

Let’s be honest, we need to show off something or have something to gain relevance, acceptance, and influence amongst our friends and if we don’t ridicule and abuse will follow. Like all youths, I worked hard to maintain my ‘status’ amongst my friends to remain relevant and influential, but there comes a time when one has to give up that life of competition to impress friends as everybody vies for the top spot. As we know, this involves slandering, backbiting, betraying and dominating others and the evil this brings is a grudge, hatred, and feelings of inferiority. Now, how this relates to our message is that how would I have been able to see my sins and the operation of God’s grace to save me from all that? (Ephesians 2:3-5). Remember, it is not about me here; it is just good to explain from my position as the Apostle Paul so convincingly did (Romans 7:9). Rather, I was plagued by vices other than what you had been, and that brought us both to the Lord, and we received grace unto salvation.

Can Our Good Works Save Us?

We are living in a world where a person is judged by the work we do, success in attracting an audience and good looks which are the normal human measure, the facade. In contrast, the issue of a person’s heart is measured by intentions and motives and evil or good is seen therein. Motives are often well-hidden by words to coat our conscious and hide our motivations. Therefore, the part God is interested in is the condition of our hearts when we do or say something (1 Samuel 16:7; Jeremiah 17:10) the results of what we did. Let me be honest here, we have had an experience where we were helped in our ministry by some people which we greatly appreciated, but after helping the brethren would undo the good they did by complaining and with some painful words to belittle and humiliate. Scripturally, such a person does not perform from love but regret and grudgingly. The Bible says we must not give or help others grudgingly (2 Corinthians 9:7) and the Lord’s grace is without repentance (Romans 11:29). In such instances of complaining, the Lord says keep your gifts and get your heart and life right with the Lord (Colossians 3:23), obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). Having said this, do we think that our works will bring us closer to God while we neglect the condition of our hearts which He weighs and sees (Proverbs 16:2; Job 34:21-22). Briefly, we had a member in our ministry whom the Lord commanded to do something for Him. At first, the person obeyed, however, later on, the member complaint bitterly and disobeyed the Lord’s command. And this led the Lord to say, “My daughter (name withheld) is not just doing this for you but My sake,” and this led the Lord to say, “My daughter (name withheld) must no longer do the task I gave her.” Therefore, judging from this, the person did this under compulsion, stressfully and void of peace and joy. Brethren, as I conclude, does our works witness peace and relieve in others with joy or regret with bad memories? Do we befriend people or fellowship with them to genuinely help to build and encourage them (Hebrews 10:24) or simply to control or dominate? Adding our works to what or who motivated us, are others able to see us or the love of Christ through our labor? (Colossians 3:23).

As for the religious and those who are content just to attend Church and the unbelievers, do you think your good works and charitable works will earn you a ticket to Heaven and a seat of honor on the throne of the Lord Jesus? (Revelations 3:21). The answer is NO! Salvation is through Christ alone (Acts 4:12) and our good works find meaning in and through Him (Ephesians 2:10) and He should be the motivation of our efforts.

Would you like to be a light in this dark world and experience true peace and joy? Do you want to give your works an eternal meaning? To begin a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, please repent and start by praying this Prayer of Sincere Repentance.
